What will You pass on to the Next Generation? 

1 Kings 2:1-9 

1. Be determined to live for Jesus! (vs. 1 & 2) 

- Psalm 27:1-5 (David) 

- Matthew 16:24-27 (Jesus) 

- James 1:2-8 (James) 

What if this is what your family remembers you for?  

"He / She just wanted me to love Jesus in all that I do!"  

2. Walk in the Word of God! (vs. 3 & 4)  

- Know the Word! (Psalm 19:7-11) 

- Obey the Word! (John 14:23-27)  

- Make the Word Known! (1 Peter 1:22-25) 

What if this is what your family remembers you for?  

"He / She invested the Word of God into me!"  

3. Desire Justice! (vs. 5-9) 

- Psalm 37:1-9 - "Trust that God is a God of Justice"

- Matthew 5:23-24 - "Focus on being right with others"

- 1 John 2:15-17 - "Love what God loves, hate what He hates"  

What if this is what your family remembers you for?  

"He / She desired to be right with God and be right with others!"  

Application:  

You cannot pass down what you don't have! 

- Psalm 8:9 (What is the object of your affection?) 

- John 1:1-5 (Trust in Jesus today!) 

- Philippians 3:13-14 (Keep Going!)
