Revelation 18

Choose Your Kingdom: World vs. God

Revelation 18:1-24 

1. The Kingdom of the World will be destroyed. (vs. 1-3) 

- The Evil that Ruled it.  

- The People who followed it.  

- Which Kingdom do you choose? (Matthew 7:13-14) 

2. Citizens of the Kingdom of God listen to the warnings & commands of God. (vs. 4-8) 

- God's people have been called to separate from the world! (1 Peter 1:13-16) 

- Citizens that belong to the kingdom of man follow after possessions (luxury), pride (queen), & pleasures (mourning I will not see).  

3. There is a difference between Worldly sorrow & Godly Sorrow. (vs. 9-19) 

- Worldly sorrow weeps over what we lose.  

- Godly sorrow weeps over the evil we commit against God.  

- 2 Corinthians 7:9-11  

4. God's People Worship God for His Justice! (vs. 20) 

- We don't gloat over people going to hell.  We glorify God for His righteous judgement! 

- Are you overwhelmed that God has spared you from His judgement? 

- 2 Corinthians 5:21  

5. The World and Its Desires will pass away. (vs. 21-24) 

- Do you have the faith to believe that God is worth more than this world? 

- 1 John 2:17 

- Mark 8:34-38 

- Philippians 3:7-9
